DeVivo Companies is searching for a growth-oriented leader to serve as the General Manager of our Northeast Tool Distributors department. The General Manager has full P&L responsibility and oversees all sales, operations and inventory management of the department to ensure long-term sales growth and profitability.

Northeast Tool Distributors is one of the largest regional suppliers of quality automotive tools and shop equipment. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages the business strategy of the department to engage in the market.
  • Develops and manages incremental and long-term growth strategies including acquisition opportunities.
  • Develops and manages the organizational structure of the department.
  • Plans for and manages all resources employed by the department.
  • Responsible for improving efficiency and increasing department profits.
  • Employs sound leadership skills to produce positive changes in employee behavior.
  • Develops goals and objectives and manages the performance of the department against them.
  • Manages department profitability through procurement, order management, logistics management and inventory management.
  • Manage relationships with all suppliers of the tool department, including tool manufacturers and wholesalers.
  • Develops and fosters customer relationships through sales leadership.
  • Develops, manages, and contributes to the internal communications of the tool department.
  • Manages departmental compliance with internal, regulatory, and manufacturer policies.
  • Contributes to a positive business culture through words and actions.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in wholesale distribution and sales management
  • Understanding of products & services related to the automotive/truck repair business
  • Strong working knowledge of operational processes in wholesale distribution and sales management
  • Strong communication and collaboration ability
  • Strong decision-making ability
  • Highly motivated
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution processes and systems, automotive tools, repair processes and sales processes is preferred but not required
