Game Developer-Designer for AR and VR-3D Graphic Artist
CAMPUS: Valdosta Campus STATUS: Full-time Temporary POSTING TYPE: Regular Posting

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, personable, Unreal 3D Developer/Designer to join our team for a 2 year grant project that ends in August 2023. The successful candidate will work with a team to create VR/AR training simulation software for various technical job programs that are taught within the college. Duties will include but are not limited to creating and assessing prototype training simulation software for educational institutions, working closely with the project manager and instructors through concept and iterating on multiple training simulator games for a variety of technical jobs ranging from welding to phlebotomy, building with the latest mixed reality hardware (HoloLens, Vive/Rift, etc.), and building educational training simulation software for a classroom environment.

**This position is grant funded and ends in August 2023.

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS
● Equipment Used: Standard office equipment.
● Working Conditions: Category III - No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Travel is rarely required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field such as Software Development, Computer Programming, Unreal Developer, 3-D Animation, or Game Development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: Associates’ Degree, two (2) years of related work experience in areas such as 3D graphics and animation programming experience with Unreal, OpenGL, DirectX or similar, C/C++/C#/Objective C or Java, 3D Modeling within Maya/Lightwave/Mudbox and basic texturing skills, (UV Mapping), and possess an understanding of computer vision algorithms, and spatial mapping and shaders.

SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary is $65,000/yr. This position is full‐time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health & other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS
Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college. Other Required Tests: No additional tests are required for this position.

Should a candidate be chosen for a 2nd interview, references which support prior work history and employment experience will be contacted. If a former employer requires payment to complete employment verification forms, this fee must be paid by the candidate.
