Position: Logistics/Freight Coordinator

Hourly rate: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour DOE

As a Logistics/Freight Coordinator at Claremont foods, you will be responsible for arranging overseeing all inbound freight shipments while working with our freight brokers and carriers to move our raw materials freight in the most economic and efficient way possible. Ideal for an energetic problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Tender shipments in a manner that optimizes and consolidates loads to meet purchasing and planning demands and maximize efficiency and profit.
• Track and trace shipment progress and update stakeholders on the status of loads through a daily report.
• Track carrier performance including damage and on-time performance.
• Maintain relationships with new and existing brokers and carriers
• Follow-up and communicate status of shipments to ensure on-time customer delivery requirements are met.
• Proactive communication with purchasing and planning regarding issues and updates.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Exercise decision-making abilities.
• Enter shipments in broker web interfaces
• Versatility in being able to assist with warehouse receiving when necessary.
• Work with other departments to resolve pending issues, file freight claims, resolve freight billing issues, provide details to warehouse team on damaged freight disposition.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• 2 years in a warehouse or freight related experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• General computer skills - microsoft tools, typing, emailing, faxing.
• Answering phones.
• Ability to stay focused in a busy loud environment.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Ability to occasionally lift up-to 55 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office and warehouse
