Sacramento: North Sacramento Center ( In-person position)
Working Hours/Shift:
Monday- Friday, Day Shift

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred, plus personal experience as a consumer, foster parent, or parent of a child in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
- 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health field.
- Peer Support Specialist Certification upon hire preferred or must successfully complete the certification process within one year of employment.
- Valid California Driver's License preferred
How you will make a difference (job overview):
The position has primary responsibility for working with family members to provide support, education, and advocacy. Family Advocates support the families as equal Advocates in the planning, development, and implementation of services
Division/Program Overview:
- Program is designed to have a peer staff stationed at one of the county locations and supporting (either) children, adolescents, adults/older adults and families.
- This support is through assisting them in navigating the county system – through the knowledge of their own personal lived experience and connecting/linking to resources, opportunities and other communities of support.
- The unique lived experience of the staff provides support focused on advocacy, education, mentoring and support and motivation.
- Staff may also be required to support clients in the community.
