We are currently seeking a Fabrication Area Leader who will oversee a team of machine operators at KTM. In this role, the Fabrication Area Leader will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production workers, ensuring that production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience operating fabricating machines, such as press brakes, forming machines, and punch machines, and will possess knowledge of working characteristics of materials and layout techniques. The Fabrication Area Leader will also be responsible for laying out, fabricating, brazing, and assembling products, using hand tools, machines, and equipment, while ensuring the safety of themselves and their team. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising others in a similar role, driving and reporting production, and demonstrate reliability and responsibility.

Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm (with possibility of overtime Friday)

Starting pay range for this position is 23.72 - $25.49

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Drive and oversee the proper and efficient use of work center resources.
• Set the pace by expectation and example.
• Lead and direct work force to meet adherence to daily work schedule.
• Exhibit an exemplary sense of urgency and discipline in meeting the needs of customers (Internal and external).
• Train and mentor associates (including assist with associate development).
• This position requires close collaboration with other operations departments, Materials, engineering, and quality.
• Provide leadership that drives continuous improvements.
• Assist in the development of a flexible workforce through cross training.
• Strict quality compliance enforcement.
• Understand and demonstrate production standards (Welding, Shear, Forming, Assembly, Electrical, etc.).
• Work in full compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead and/or support area process improvement efforts.
• Report production.

Qualifications:

• Several years’ progressive work history using press brake, laser and shears
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to utilize the MSR system for materials required for production.
• Ability to use Syteline to pull up reports and department scheduled.
• Strong analytic / Problem Solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of labor skills necessary to lead and train in specific departments.
• Basic Computer aptitude.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
• Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard operate equipment and read application information.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
• May be exposed to moving mechanical parts; heat and moderate noise from machinery.
