Job description
The Equipment Processing Technician is responsible for processing and inspecting medical equipment, including disassembling and reassembling it, processing and managing the associated accessories, in a district office. The Equipment Processing Technician also is responsible for the entry of data associated with these tasks.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proficient in both movable medical equipment (MME) and patient handling equipment (PHE).
  • Completes all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure accurate documentation for billing and required regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the requirements for servicing medical devices.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of mechanical principles & display the appropriate aptitude. Can complete minor equipment repairs & documents them in the appropriate system(s).
  • Completes equipment PM’s, recalibrations as required per GA Prefix Work Instructions to also include Manufacturer Services equipment & their associated processes.
  • Assists with district equipment inventories & parts cycle counts.
  • Assists with Manufacturer Services projects upon demand. IE Haemonetic’s, Getinge, etc.
  • Reports & documents customer damaged equipment issues to supervisor when identified.
  • Demonstrate process proficiencies & comprehension. Acts as an SME for designated QMS tasks within the district operations.
  • Helps sustain Visual Workplace Standards within the district operations.
  • Assists with equipment &/or process training as needed.

  • Completes all paperwork and data entry accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Stays up to date on the medical equipment in the fleet.
  • Cleans and inspects medical equipment for functionality, following approved written procedures.
  • Demonstrates attention to details.
  • Ships and receives medical equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with inventory management.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
KNOWLEDGE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience in hospital setting or customer service preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours as required.
  • Able to lift and/or push 75 pounds.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
