Position Overview

We are looking to add a dynamic Ecosystem Restoration UAV Drone Pilot to our passionate team of environmental professionals. As the Ecosystem Restoration UAV Drone Pilot, you will use cutting-edge drone technology to restore and remediate a variety of natural and constructed stream and wetland ecosystems, throughout the state. You will be fully equipped to identify and treat invasive vegetation and restore native vegetation using our fleet of Agras T-16 precision drones in a professional, safety-first culture.

Job Duties

The Ecosystem Restoration UAV Drone Pilot will provide our government, utility, commercial and not-for-profit clients with the services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage natural resources, comply with policies and obtain regulatory permits. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding the contract needs and specifications of clients and developing appropriate solutions.
  • Inspect a wide range of habitats, both natural and disturbed, and assess their condition, health and functionality according to client specifications.
  • Identify invasive species, understand their typical characteristics, and recognize common hazards associated with fieldwork.
  • Ability to multitask, make decisions, and communicate with team members in a fast-paced environment, while also remaining focused during monotonous tasks.
  • Completing required flight plans and client deliverables upon completion of each project.
  • Completing all job-related documentation and records upon completion of each project.
  • Occasionally assist the restoration team with non-drone-related projects.
  • The ability to work as an apprentice during the training and certification period.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications:

An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Two- to four-year degree in Biology, Botany, Ecology, Forestry, Horticulture, Hydrology, Soil Science, Zoology, or related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
  • Natural resource consulting experience preferred.
  • Current 14 CFR Part 107 License is required.
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 107 regulations and experience with various UAS platforms is a plus.
