Job Summary:

Mid Continent Controls is looking for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Derby, KS. Under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Associate Electrical Engineer would be responsible for assisting in designs for in-flight entertainment and aircraft cabin management equipment at a circuit-level. This employee will be responsible for simple design work, following up on engineering corrective action requests, and writing test and assembly procedures.

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor of Science in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (BSEE or BSEET) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.

· Two years of electrical/electronic design experience is preferred, but not required. The employee is expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within 90 days in the position.

Required Skills:

· General knowledge of schematic/PCB design software.

· Working knowledge of electronic testing equipment (oscilloscope, DVM, logic analyzer, etc) and troubleshooting, debugging, and soldering skills.

· Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required.

· Strong computer, verbal and written skills are required.

· Ability to take direction from other engineers and assist in designs as a team.

Preferred Skills:

· Altium Designer experience is preferred.

· Ability to read schematics and perform PCB design

· Experience with designing electrical hardware to meet or exceed DO-160 or TSO testing is preferred.

· Experience in high-speed PCB layout, RF PCB layout, or high power PCB layout is considered a plus.

· Design knowledge of thermal cooling and EMI shielding requirements for electronic equipment is considered a plus.

· 3D modeling experience utilizing Solidworks is considered a plus.

Job Functions:

· Participates in design work with a team; including hardware selection, schematic creation, and PCB layout.

· Tests, troubleshoots and debugs new product designs and researches issues to ensure product is functioning properly.

· Develops test equipment and procedures for newly designed products.

· Produces assembly/manufacturing documentation for new products.

· Works with mechanical, software, and certification engineers to design a customer requested product from start to finish.

· Works with manufacturing and quality departments to ensure the product is built to specifications per the customer requirements.

· Performs other duties as deemed necessary or as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
