Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Estimator to join our team and provide accurate cost estimates for electrical utility undergrounding projects. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, gathering data from multiple sources, and using this information to create detailed cost estimates for the project. The successful candidate must have excellent analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and have a deep understanding of electrical systems and underground utility infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications and gather data from multiple sources to understand project requirements
- Analyze the project scope and break it down into individual tasks, identifying the resources required for each task
- Develop detailed cost estimates for each task, including labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses
- Prepare cost reports and presentations to communicate project costs to stakeholders
- Continuously monitor project costs and adjust estimates as necessary
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project cost estimates align with project goals and timelines
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations to project managers
- Ensure that all cost estimates comply with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cost estimating for electrical utility undergrounding projects
- Deep understanding of electrical systems and underground utility infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to underground utility projects is a plus.
Salary Range:
$83,200-$124,800
