Job Summary:

Serve as aide to the Cook. Prepare drinks, trays; wash dishes and keep kitchen clean and orderly. Help utilize food and supplies efficiently. Reports to the Food Services Director.

Job Duties:

1. Prepares cold drinks and water for carts and dining room. Bring carts to Living Room for patients eating in their rooms. Retrieve carts and return to kitchen; wipe down carts.

2. Makes coffee.

3. Assembles trays with hot plates, desserts, salads, and cold drinks.

4. Begins tray line by reading menu tickets to the cook. Places food on trays and trays in carts.

5. Serves hot drinks and hot food to residents in dining room.

6. Clears dining room after meal. Sets up tables for next meal, ensuring there are extra napkins, placemats and bibs on the spare table.

7. Fills condiment containers. Stacks lids for all drinking containers. Sets up trays for next meal.

8. Washes dishes.

9. Sweeps floor and removes trash.

10. Assists cook with any other tasks as requested.

11. Wipes down all surfaces.

HIPAA Privacy & Security:

This position has no computer access to PHI. There is access to limited PHI verbally and on paper (such as menus and patient lists). The incumbent receives initial and annual training on HIPAA Privacy.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds

· Must have good stamina and be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push and pull throughout the shift

· Must be willing and able to travel to work in any type of weather; respect and support Glenmont’s purpose, mission, and chain of command; be able to complete tasks on a timely basis

· Must be on call and work overtime as needed to fulfill the job

Work Relationships:

· Must be able to follow verbal instructions, accept instructions, critiques, and suggestions

· Must be able to work efficiently and coordinate multiple tasks, while working harmoniously with other staff, especially staff from other departments (e.g. Christian Science Nursing)

· Must work as a member of Glenmont’s team, demonstrating ability to work well with co-workers in all departments.

Evaluation:

Ongoing self-evaluation is encouraged throughout the year. Receives an annual performance evaluation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
