Randall Architectural Ironworks (RAI) is seeking a Skilled Custom Welding / Metalwork Shop Foreman to work in our Apopka, FL shop .
The primary responsibility for the Welding Shop Foreman is to direct the activities of welder/fabrication staff to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency within specified project work timelines relative to welding, cutting, rolling, shaping, bending, heating, or hammering metal to fabricate custom metal components.
Must be able to lead and train personnel in a custom welding shop.
- Be a working, hands-on supervisor.
- Needs to be able to perform highly specialized welding/fabrication tasks.
- Ensures company assets are maintained and repaired in accordance with the standards set forth in the operational manual and predetermined maintenance schedules.
- Tracks and verifies what jobs are being performed and the time frame it takes to complete. Also, tracks and verifies other welder/fabricators performance.
- Plans the sequence of operations for welder/fabricators.
- Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project specifications/requirements.
- Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying math skills, allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metals.
- Coordinates the set up and operation fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Performs other duties and tasks assigned by RAI Management.
