Job Standards

The Office of Public Utilities, Electric Operations and Communications Division is seeking an individual to perform administrative work in the review of and drafting of compliance policies; performs review of data logs; reviews and implements software patch management; and monitors and assists in maintaining physical and electronic security perimeters, particularly cyber security regulations associated with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree with course work in computer science and two years of experience in personal computer network administration, application software in a network environment, and with Microsoft network administration and application software installation in a network environment or any equivalent combination of experience and education. Requires Cisco CCNA certification or must obtain said certification within 12 months of hire. Must furnish information for and pass a required background investigation, sign a confidentiality statement, possess a valid class D Illinois driver’s license and submit proof of insurance bi-annually. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the city during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency.
