The Commodities Document and Inventory Analyst will be responsible for coordinating and reconciling all documentation involved in ownership transfer of raw materials from external suppliers to Westrock. Role will be responsible for accurate transfer of data to Banking platform in a timely manner, reconciliation of all data to contract management system and reporting to various departments, as well as reconciliation of inventory in various locations and systems. This position reports to the VP of Commodity Sourcing and Risk Management.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collecting and reconciliation of all documentation for ownership transfer and to participate in the inventory reconciliation of all external commodities storage locations.
  • Reconcile open accounts payable with vendor statements to ensure monthly alignment.
  • Partner with our Accounts Payable group to issue debit/credit notes to vendors in line with claims, and manage the allocation of those debit/credit notes against future payments.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors, supply management and other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner so that they can be submitted to our Accounts Payable dept. for payment.
  • Collaborate closely with Logistics, Manufacturing, Accounts Payable and Cost Accounting groups around receivables and 3rd party inventory location reconciliations and discrepancies.
  • Proactively identify inventory management opportunities and risks
  • Identify inventory data variances, perform root cause analysis, lead and drive resolution of variances using a proactive data driven/cross-functional collaborative approach to mitigate further recurrences.
  • Maintain and file documentation in accordance with company policy to ensure compliance with internal controls. Enters any required documentation to industry regulatory portals as needed.
  • Drive the design and continuous improvement of inventory control system internally, as well as further IT integration with key external warehouses for real time inventory variance identification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year business degree with a concentration in Accounting, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in either Inventory Control, Accounting or Supply Chain roles.
  • Excellent data entry skills with disciplined attention to detail
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills: be able to effectively multitask, organize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment while also working independently.
