Summary of Job Duties:
The Associate Director of Digital Philanthropy is a key member of the Alumni and Annual Giving team and is the key staff member in the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) responsible for the execution of digital-driven fundraising and communications efforts including, but not limited to, email, social media, digital publications, digital graphics and appeals. Daily activities include, but are not limited to, managing the UAMS Institutional Advancement Giving website, email marketing, Day of Giving, crowdfunding, SMS, micro-campaigns, personal digital outreach from deans and program directors and optimizing digital fundraising channel strategies to achieve donor growth goals. Technologies used will include the following: Anthology (iModules), MobileCause, Classy, Ellucian Advance, Affinaquest, WordPress, Google Analytics, and Facebook Live among others.

Understanding the larger marketplace, products available for our collective use, and how to differentiate our digital presence and digital fundraising will be a critical factor in our upcoming capital campaign. This role partners with Alumni and Annual Giving teammates and cross-functional colleagues within IA to carry out the designated fundraising responsibilities for the university’s annual giving program focusing on long term, multi-year objectives for growing revenue and participation of alumni donors. Development of the Grateful Patient Program, identified by leadership as an IA priority, will rely heavily on digital marketing and connectivity as an omni-channel approach is necessary for successful programming. This position also strategizes and serves as partners with non-academic units to determine and implement fundraising strategies for audiences such as parents, faculty/staff, patients, and friends effectively and efficiently.

Our team follows a hybrid work-from-home model with the primary work location in Little Rock, AR. This position is primarily remote but reports to the primary work location as necessary upon directive from the supervisor (3 to 4 times per year for specific events, professional development, team meetings, and formal and informal collaboration). We provide a laptop plus accessories and software to support the functions of this position.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, web design, communications, public relations, marketing or related field plus three (3) years of digital marketing experience including Facebook ads, email implementation or website editing required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work-from-home environment
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manger.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, ability to prioritize timelines, and deadline driven.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Outstanding relationship building, and communication skills required.
  • Successful experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel to primary work location for specific events and professional development as needed and upon directive from supervisor (3-4 times per year).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years significant experience generating revenue and gift growth in digital fundraising arena.
  • Working knowledge of Anthology / iModules, MobileCause, Classy, Ellucian Advance, WordPress, Google Analytics, Facebook Live, Pardot, and Salesforce Affinaquest CRM.
  • Traffic/project management software/systems knowledge such as Monday or Asana.

Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
  • Align digital engagement objectives, strategies, and tactics with UAMS strategic plan Vision2029.
  • Champion for digital platforms and products to support constituent engagement such as digital marketing and digital fundraising with email, online giving, SMS, social media/digital advertisement, automation, or other emerging practices.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to design and implement communications for the Chancellor to donor and alumni audiences, as well as newsletters and digital event registrations related to donors and alumni.
  • Develop an informed and expert constituent view. Understand trends, constituent needs and opportunities by evaluating primary and secondary research and communications and program data from program owners and campus partners.
  • Email campaign project management, set-up and implementation in email service providers such as iModules, Pardot, or similar. Bonus if you have experience working with other non-profit focused donation processing/email technology such as Classy, MobileCause and/or databases i.e. Ellucian Advance, Blackbaud, or Salesforce. HTML code editing a plus.
  • Oversee the development of annual and multi-year digital solicitation and stewardship plans that allow units to achieve short and long-term goals around revenue and donor count for various campus units and programs, divisional departments, and the colleges.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices and technologies and propose innovative strategies and tactics to advance divisional and university objectives.
  • Track and analyze utilization of various engagement and communications tools including webpages, iModules, MobileCause, email, online giving form, SMS social media/digital advertisement.
  • Use graphic design skills and develop new ones to amplify digital strategies.
  • Utilize analytical data to quickly and accurately evaluate digital fundraising campaign effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments or recommendations.
  • Utilize data and industry best practices to develop digital constituent communications and engagement leading to increased affinity and affiliation.
  • Work alongside internal staff and external contractors to assure prompt and accurate execution of campaigns.
  • Write emails and campaign appeals that will be sent to hundreds of thousands of UAMS supporters and friends.
  • Develop productive relationships with internal and external university stakeholders. Build partnerships with Institutional Advancement (IA) and campus partners.
  • Lead management of owned digital assets (website, social channels, and email marketing) for IA and many other functional divisions for UAMS. This includes customer-facing sites and back-end analytics.
  • Liaise with key staff across departments to maintain updates on webpages related to their work areas.
  • Program daily/weekly website updates to giving.UAMS.edu and alumni.UAMS.edu, working within the iModules and WordPress platforms.
  • Stay current on best practices for website iterations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
