Position Summary
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank. The Department of Exercise and Sport Science has a dynamic, inclusive, and well-supported faculty. We invite you to become a member of our team to educate our outstanding students in the area of Exercise Science. Our Exercise Science programs at UW-La Crosse are nationally known for a vigorous curriculum and visionary faculty. This individual will serve primarily to teach in our undergraduate biomechanics coursework but will also be required to teach additional courses in exercise science as assigned by the ESS Department Chair. The position will start on August 28, 2023.

The position requires teaching in the Exercise Science Program (undergraduate). The candidate will need expertise to teach courses in biomechanics and other areas in exercise science as assigned by the ESS Department Chair. In addition, there is an expectation for this individual to engage in scholarship with potential to supervise student theses/projects. There will be department and university service and the individual will be required to conduct academic advising.

Required Qualifications
  • Earned Doctorate degree in Exercise Science (or closely related field). ABDs will be considered. Degree must be earned by the personnel review held in the spring of the first year.
  • Expertise in the area of biomechanics as shown by academic and scholarship background.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching university-level biomechanics.
  • Experience in teaching other university-level courses in Exercise Science.
  • Scholarship experience in biomechanics and/or related fields.
  • Prior university service experience.
