Job description
Under general supervision, responsible for furthering development of the BioPortal – a web-based application for secure, global, and real-time analysis and monitoring of animal diseases in collaboration with other international laboratories, organizations, and government agencies. Provide creative design input and software development for the BioPortal.
THIS CONTRACT ENDS 6 MONTHS FROM DATE OF HIRE WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or have related work experience.
Demonstrated work experience in software development.
Experience developing highly interactive applications.
Knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Knowledge and understanding of object oriented analysis and design.
Skills to write great, simple, clean, efficient code.
Knowledge of relational databases.
Preferred:
Experience using Docker for containerized development and deployment.
Experience with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks.
Experience with Ruby on Rails.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services basic offerings.
