Qualifications
The Administrative Assistant is accessible, approachable, and welcoming, managing confidential situations and information with discretion, respect, and sensitivity.
- Ability to thrive within a team while also being able to work independently.
- Superior organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and exhibit sound judgment.
- Previous administrative support experience - preferably in schools, special education.
- Experience with Google Suite, Student Information System (Schoolbrains), special education software (Frontline/esped),.
- Ability to engage with different perspectives, opinions, and conflict.
- Bilingual or multilingual is a plus.
- Encourages and fosters passion and enthusiasm for the work of AVC.
- Experience working in schools, nonprofits, human service organizations
- Valid driver's license, safe driving record and ability to transport students in AVC vehicles (vans).
Role Overview:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees special projects & other duties associated with strategic initiatives.
- Manage output, workflow and office deadlines.
- Oversees the planning and implementation of tasks related to opening school each fall.
- Maintain and disseminate student records and information both electronically and hard copies.
- Scheduling and Coordination of meetings with sending districts, staff, and parents.
- Data entry and distribution of student IEPs and progress reports.
- Submitting monthly Medicaid billing/documentation to district contacts.
- Take daily student lunch orders and assist with disbursing Application for Free/Reduced lunch.
- Ability to drive vans to transport students to job sites as needed.
- Support and coordinate with others for new staff onboarding .
- Supporting coordination related to facilities projects.
- Complete other duties as needed.
