Job description
Job Summary:

The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) is one of 37 NIH-designated Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers in the United States, which plays a central role in national research efforts to address Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD). The ADRCs have a responsibility to support research that provides the scientific basis for understanding the multiple etiologies and risk factors that impact the presentation of the AD process. The Wisconsin ADRC is comprised of nine Cores that provide a rich multi-disciplinary and inclusive infrastructure to enhance cutting-edge research, facilitating team science, and fostering development of new avenues of research. Reporting to the Director of the Wisconsin ADRC, and in tandem with the Center's Associate Director and Core leaders, the Executive Administrator will help oversee the overall operational management of the Center. The incumbent will serve as a primary representative of the ADRC to stakeholders and community partners, develop strategic plans, interact with donors and the philanthropy team, supervise a team, determine space planning and informational system needs, and develop and administer a budget in support of the Center's goals. Working alongside the faculty and staff in each of the nine Cores, the Executive Administrator will ensure that the mission and vision for the Center is reflected in the conduct of the work. Oversight will be provided to monitor the necessary metrics that will denote success, guarantee the financial health of the Center's funding, confirm protocol compliance with all Core-related activities, and safeguard that Core resources are and remain available for the duration of the grant cycle.

The incumbent will join the Wisconsin ADRC at a time leading into a new cycle of funding, where there is much enthusiasm among ADRC faculty and staff about opportunities for continued growth and development to advance the ADRC's scientific research mission. The new Executive Administrator will inspire a service-oriented culture that enhances responsiveness to all stakeholders, internal and external to the University of Wisconsin, ensures technical compliance and recognizes the importance of diverse backgrounds and expertise as key factors to improving the quality of the Center's work. In addition, the Executive Administrator will cultivate an environment that directs staff energy and creativity in support of the important research, building upon a solid infrastructure that supports clinical and pre-clinical AD research at local, national and international levels.
