Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Starting pay rate of $16.50, actual wage will be adjusted based on experience.
  • Benefits: This is a full-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc) also available.

Job Summary:

As part of the Lift Operations Team, ticket checkers greet every skier or snowboarder and ensure they have valid credentials to board our lifts and gondolas.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for grouping people together to keep lift lines moving efficiently
  • Answer guest questions by being familiar with Killington & Pico's layout, products, services, and current conditions or referring them to someone who can
  • Identify fraudulent or counterfeit credentials
  • Communicate safety procedures and rules for riding the lifts to the guests as necessary
  • Handle upset guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Maintain lift maze area, including shoveling and raking as necessary
Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with all of Killington's ticket and pass products (training and samples provided), as well as the resort's layout, products and services.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Friendly, outgoing personality
  • Basic knowledge of the ski industry preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to tolerate standing in the cold for extended periods of time
  • Ability to scan and identify lift tickets, while remaining alert at all times for skiers and snowboarders arriving at load area
  • Ability to handle a busy, fast paced environment with a smile
  • This position involves working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, on varied snow surfaces, and requires standing for the majority of the scheduled shift
