Location: Lobster Shop, Ruston Way, Tacoma WA.

Tacoma’s premier waterfront restaurant, the Lobster Shop, located on Commencement Bay, is a decades-long mainstay of the local dining scene. Since opening in 1981, loyal guests return year after year for the friendly, knowledgeable service and the unbeatable views of Mount Rainier and the Olympics from every table. The seaside restaurant serves patrons fresh Pacific Northwest seafood, Prime Dry-Aged Steaks, and iconic lobster dishes alongside incredible wines and cocktails. Duties:

The Lobster Shop is looking for an experienced wine captain/sommelier. This position ensures the highest level of service by assisting the dining room managers, staff and guests throughout the restaurant with passionate and knowledgeable wine sales and service. It is of the utmost importance that this person has a deep understanding of a guest-first mentality and is frequently engaged in mentoring and sharing knowledge with our service team.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years fine dining experience
• At least 4 years wine and beverage experience
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must hold at least a level 1 certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent accreditation.
• Must be available nights and weekends
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance required
• Can work "on their feet" for extended periods of time
• Able to sustain high energy activities for extended periods of time, handle stress and remain cool under pressure
• Able to lift 40 pounds
• Can carry full cocktail and large oval trays safely & consistently
• Related training and/or job experience that would enable applicant to demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities to perform job
• Be able to take ownership of your work and willing to be held accountable for your actions
• Must have stage presence at all times

Pay: Average $30-40/hour with commissions ($17.50/hour base rate + 10% commission on direct gross bottle and glass wine sales per shift).
