Wastewater Plant Operator

The City of Moberly will be accepting applications for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

The employee will operate light and heavy equipment such as various trucks and equipment used in general maintenance and construction. The employee will also work inside and outdoors regardless of weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to open pits, water, raw wastewater, and various types of chemicals on occasion.

Examples of job duties:

• Daily maintenance at wastewater treatment plant and biosolids processing.
• Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control.
• Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of wastewater through the system.
• Maintains log of operations and records.
• Collect wastewater samples, using a dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
• Observes the conditions of sewage entering the treatment plant and ensures that all systems are working properly.

Applicants must be able to obtain a D Wastewater License within 12 months of employment. High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred applicant would have a CDL License but is not required. Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
