Salary:
The salary for this position starts at $30,082 per year.

About the Job:
In this position as a Program Coordinator for Victim Services, you will support the Indiana SAVIN Victim Notification system.

A Day in the Life:

  • Notify victims and other interested parties of offender releases, custody status, offender location, and special circumstances, via phone, SMS, email, and letter;
  • Use statewide databases to collect information about offender status changes to keep the notification system up to date;
  • Answer questions from victims, family members, the public, criminal justice professionals, and Department staff about offender movement and SAVIN notification and provide appropriate sources for additional information;
  • Maintain incoming offender data that may have been altered or duplicated to provide an organized platform for victims of crime;
  • Represent the Indiana Department of Correction in various matters related to victim services by attending meetings and coalitions;
  • Work to improve victim services programming within the Indiana Department of Correction;
  • Strengthen communication between the Indiana Department of Correction and victims of crime by registering new victims and retaining accurate contact information;

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and work under time constraints;
  • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.Specialized knowledge of program area including pertinent rules and regulations;
  • Specialized knowledge of applicable legislation, guidelines, agency policy, and professional standards and practices;
  • Ability to research, analyze, and compile specific topics related to the program area;
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing;
  • Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process;
  • Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public;
  • Specialized knowledge of accounting and budgeting.​
