Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Vice President of Reward, Americas with extensive experience in compensation, benefits, and mobility.

JOB OBJECTIVE

Reporting directly to the President, Reward & Mobility, (R&M), and working with the People & Organisation Business Unit (BU) Presidents and their teams, , this role develops and executes the regional reward short and long term strategic plans, ensuring regional priorities support the needs of the business geographically and
are aligned with the Group centre of expertise, (COE). This role provides expertise and acts as a business partner providing support across all of Woods for their regional area of responsibility.

This role is a member of the R&M leadership team and supports the P&O leadership teams and business leaders, including global functional ones, to ensure the provision of specialist expertise support in response to business needs. This role provides leadership and expertise and ensures the delivery of the regional P&O
strategy in all aspects of:
  • Reward: variable and fixed pay
  • Benefits: health and welfare; retirement plans (excluding UK)

The role holder will also be instrumental in the provision of reward and benefit advice and administration through the professional and global shared services teams.

A high level of engagement is required to influence and support the global functional, and BU leadership and P&O teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively contribute to the global reward & mobility strategy in line with business requirements, legislation and trends, ensuring they support Wood’s philosophy of being internally fair, externally competitive and inclusive.
  • Proactively contribute to the formation of the regional P&O strategy, with the aim of ensuring the reward & mobility policy and framework are appropriate, rigorously understood and applied, and that risks are mitigated.
  • Influence and lead the regional reward team, build robust capability and provide appropriate development.
  • Develop and manage the consistent application of rewardpolicies and procedures, which align with and complement global practice/process, with particular emphasis on the reward framework.
  • Manage and communicate rewardadvice, support, governance and compliance in multiple geographical locations across Wood, demonstatring business acument.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of rewardadvice and support across the P&O function – including expert advisors, business partners, professional and global shared services.
  • Lead and manage the development of engagement,communication and training toolkits for all aspects of reward, for example, annual renewal processes, compensation review, and learning hub modules.
  • Oversee job evaluation and salary benchmarking within the region.
  • Drive implementation of and compliance with global reward frameworks and standards to achieve consistency and equity in application of the Global Reward Policy
  • Influence and support the business in the understanding of rewardand its impact on people, customers and costs.
  • Develop and manage inclusive regional/country offerings, working with external and internal parties to maximise value to the business, customers and our people.
  • Manage current and new vendor relationships, identifying appropriate partners who can add value to Wood, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of global rewardstrategy, providing input to plans and driving regional project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the global reward and mobility agenda, strategy, policies and programs that will enhance business performance and results; ensuring regional business priorities are identified.
  • Identify and understand external market practice and emerging trends; legislative requirements; and analytical intelligence. Determine appropriate application for Wood, gain support and buy-in from the business and lead implementation.
  • Support the creation of an organisational culture which fosters innovation and collaboration, continuous improvement and change.
  • Lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and Wood’s culture, behaviours, standards and policies.
Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications

  • Degree qualified plus HR related or Business management qualification
Job specific experience
  • Significant successful experience in a senior specialist compensation and benefits role within a complex global organization preferred
  • Understanding and experience of developing, implementing, managing and improving variable and fixed reward practices
  • Understanding and experience of management and compliance issues with benefits and retirement plans (excluding retirement in the UK).
  • International employment awareness, and proven application of business appropriate solutions.

Knowledge of:

  • Group performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers
  • Complex commercial and business models and associated application in sphere of influence
  • Corporate governance and decision making
  • Detailed and current awareness of external factors, competitors and their impact on Wood’s strategy and success
