Veterinary Technician (FT)

Our practice is growing! We are looking for a self-starter who can think on his/her feet and work well under pressure. As part of the Internal Medicine Team at WVERC, you are expected to provide patients and clients with the highest level of care by being familiar with the operations of the department. You will be responsible for assisting with scheduled appointments and procedures as well as basic front desk duties. This position requires someone with great client relation skills, strong technical skills, and the ability to be a flexible team player. Tasks will include: calculating dosages, administering meds, running in‐house lab work, sending out lab tests to various facilities, placing catheters, phlebotomy, intubation, extubation, anesthesia skills, safe patient restraint, radiology, CT and ultrasound positioning, direct communication with our clients and referring veterinarians, making appointments, faxing, scanning, follow‐up calls, and maintenance of our department and its equipment. You will also be assisting directly during CT and endoscopic procedures.

Compassion as well as the ability to maintain a positive outlook and communicate professionally with clients and staff is crucial. Basic math skills and computer literacy are also necessary for success in this position.

The Internal Medicine department is open Monday-Saturday; flexibility with evening and weekend hours is a must.
