Training Specialist
Location: Cloverdale, VA

Our company
New River Electrical is nationwide, 100% employee-owned electrical contractor, dedicated to exceeding the high voltage construction and maintenance needs of our electrical utility and industrial customers.

Position Summary
New River Electrical is searching for a Training Specialist who easily connects with people and is skilled at training a diverse workforce. The Training Specialist will be responsible for leading the CPR recertification program for New River Electrical as well as assist and lead other safety and compliance training throughout the company. This position will report to the Safety Supervisor.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
• Assist with the completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
• Assist with the completion of all clients required training/orientation for both safety and environmental.
• Regularly conducts mandatory Safety and Health training.
• Responsible for the field CPR recertification program.
• Travel to our field team to perform various compliance trainings.
• Assist with FR clothing deliveries.
• Coordinate and lead in-house safety training.
• Assist Safety Specialists with special projects.

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Knowledge in electrical transmission and distribution construction, preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct training.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Travel
Travel for this position is throughout Virginia, Ohio and West Virginia. Travel is estimated at 70%, with overnight stays as well.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and give speeches in a public setting and have good hearing and listening skills. The employee is required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time. The employee must have good overall health and work into the evening hours when the situation requires. Must be able to lift and carry items approximately 30 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but could include night and weekend activity, based on circumstances.
