Job Summary

The BYU Track & Field Assistant Coach (jumps and multis) will assist the head coach in all aspects of a highly competitive, Division I Track & Field program.

Duties/Expectations:

Athlete Development/Coaching

• Provide coaching in both a team and individual setting to improve track and field skills and performance in the jumps and multi events.
• Direct the creation of practice plans, teach private lessons, assist in meet preparation, develop meet strategy, and provide direct coaching and assistance during meets.
• Research and identify the latest trends and techniques in coaching and competing in track and field.
• Other duties as assigned.

Recruiting

• Research, evaluate, contact and recruit men and women of high character, scholarship and athletic ability to compete for the BYU Cross Country and Track and Field program
• Market the Track and Field program to prospective recruits, community members, and club members both domestically and internationally
• Travel extensively to evaluate talent and market the BYU Track and Field program to potential recruits

Operations

• Assist in directing of competition scheduling, travel, budget and general administration
• Assist in facilitating alumni/donor relationships through donor event management, researching and finding potentials donors and cultivating relationships with current donors to encourage additional donations
• Assist in facilitating the planning, marketing and operation of sports camps

What Qualifies You to Apply?

Required: (Must have required degree by hire date)

• Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge and understanding of Division I Track & Field and NCAA rules and regulations

Preferred:

• 5 years collegiate track and field coaching experience
