Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Tool Crib Attendee 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will be part of a team reporting to our standard tooling and material process group, supporting tooling needs for aircraft manufacturing (composite layup, cure, machining, assembly, metallic assembly, and subsystems).

This position will fill multiple positions including:

  • A Shift Tool Crib Attendant (Day Shift, Monday-Thursday on a 4/10 schedule)
  • B Shift Tool Crib Attendant (Night Shift, Monday-Thursday on a 4/10 schedule)
  • C Shift Tool Crib Attendant (Day Shift, Friday – Sunday on a 3/12 schedule)

This position is located at our Clearfield, Utah facility.

Responsibilities:

The Tool Crib Attendant will receive, store, and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices. Maintains records of tools issued to employees; takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using computers to enter transactions, validate information and maintain database. Cleans, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment; disposes of surplus or obsolete equipment in accordance with established procedure. Ensures that measuring devices are periodically calibrated. The ideal candidate is:

  • Detail oriented, teamwork oriented, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Able to learn and follow established processes, procedures, and requirements
  • Experienced with data entry, and using digital scanners for tool control or inventory accountability.
  • Experienced in maintaining records and providing traceability of materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of experience in a tool crib, maintenance/manufacturing environment, or inventory control role.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and be able to work standing up for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required.
  • Ability to use vibrating tools and perform torqueing operations to include hand tools & power equipment and climb ladders or stairs.
  • Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Must possess an active Secret DoD Security Clearance with ability to maintain. Secret Clearance is required to start.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from date of submission. Program access is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a tool crib and/or production related environment.
  • Experience and comfortability with using forklifts.
  • Knowledge of SAP, CribMaster and/or similar tool control software systems.
  • Knowledge of calibrated tools and processes.


Salary Range: $31,700 USD - $52,800 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
