General Position Description
Responsible for technical support, interface design, data reporting for college- programs and other related software. Oversees database administration, development and maintenance for annual processes and reports including data imports, student communications and data reporting. Designs and communicates conceptual solutions, collaborate and refine strategies, as well as create complex queries and reports in a variety of software applications and develops graphical representations of outcomes to be used in sharing information college-wide and with industry partners.

1. Provide maintenance, designs, tests and implements processes and procedures for use of database.

2. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves online student database problems, escalating more complex problems to the vendor’s IT department for resolution.

5. Creates graphical representations of pertinent data for use in sharing information with college-wide leadership for program improvement.

6. Develops and manages large Excel workbooks, for use in the creation of program performance and evaluation reports.

8. Report error messages, conflicts and system defects and assist with finding solutions. Make decisions when reviewing systems output about results that may be indicators of a problem.

10. Establishes filing systems and maintains current files for the campus office, including files for internal and external correspondence.

Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in a computer related or technical field.

Preferred Type of Experience
Working experience with a computer related position.
Experience in Microsoft Office environment to include advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other creative graphics software.

Knowledge of multiple software applications including those with the following functions: databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, word processing, and multimedia presentation with the ability to perform advanced skills within each function.

Knowledge of HTML, SQL and HCI.

Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Skill in the use of personal computers and general office software.

Ability to organize work and solve problems.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
