The Systems Application Architect will work with business subject matter experts during all phases of the project/product life cycle. This includes but not limited to developing SIIMPS, SQL queries and/or scripts, daily production troubleshooting, and project initiative activities. The role will work in close collaboration with IT’s COE’s to implement/improve business capabilities that achieve business objectives.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

Production Support
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with subject matter experts from the business and other areas to troubleshoot production issues.
  • Identify solutions and provide technical expertise to resolve.
  • Ability to create, update, and maintain technical documentation and requirements.
  • Collaborate across IT technical teams including but not limited to architecture, data platform, and infrastructure.
  • Challenge the Status Quo in a professional manner to glean opportunities for process improvement.
Technology Enhancements / Upgrades & Deployment
  • Participate and facilitate consultation with subject matter experts from the business and other sources to define business technical requirements.
  • Ability to create test scripts to support unit testing and/or end to end testing.
  • Ability to support User Acceptance testing as required.
  • Ability to review and analyze documentation to determine impacts to current system applications.
  • Share best practices and provide recommendations.
  • Identify and analyze new product functionality, trends and opportunities for their potential to disrupt existing capabilities, digital and transformation strategies.
Vendor Management
  • Collaborate with vendor consultants through opening tickets and correspondence until resolved.
  • Collaborate with vendor consultants with new feature functionality as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
  • 6 + years of systems administrator/architect experience implementing software systems.
  • Technical requirements documentation.
  • Technical skills with SQL queries and scripts.
  • Testing (development unit testing through user acceptance testing).
  • Working across multiple IT teams (integrations, reporting, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze issues, determine a solution, gain business approval, and implement solution.
  • Successful delivery of several business technology platforms.
  • Experience in logistics, wholesale distribution, or supply chain.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management, able to manage several initiatives at once.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate conversations among cross-functional teams with varied experience and application knowledge.
  • Agile/Scrum certification preferred.
  • Experience with PDI Enterprise software (Wholesale) preferred.
  • Experience with TelaPoint preferred.
