We are looking for swim instructors to join our J Aquatics Team!

If you love kids, have a positive attitude, enjoy being in the water, and have a passion for teaching others a life-saving skill, then we would love to hear from you!

Our J instructors are responsible for instructing group and private swim lessons, as well as water safety to children ranging from 6 months to 15 years old. J Instructors are also responsible for taking attendance, updating skills, and speaking with parents about swimmers progress.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide a safe and comfortable environment for all swimmers
• To teach all swimmers safety in and around the water
• To provide quality instruction that improves the skills and development of each student based on the JCC swim program
• Assist with aquatics department in daily cleaning and maintenance of the pool and aquatics facilities
• Enrichment class instruction
• Be an instructor for our summer camp classes

OTHER DUTIES

• Works with other agency staff for agency-wide special events programs and other events as deemed necessary by supervisor.
• Other assignments as deemed necessary by the Aquatics Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Previous experience working with children, preferred teaching swim lessons
• American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, and first aid
• If do not have certification then must become certified in first 60 days
• Great customer service skills
• Desire to work in a team environment
• Ability to work a consistent schedule
• A love of children and a desire to teach
• Energetic and positive candidates who thrive in fast paced environments, take initiative, are reliable, team players, have a willingness to learn, are great with children, and love the water

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
