Summary
The Ming Zhou Lab is seeking a Student Helper to assist the lab part-time. The lab's research is in structure determination and functional characterization of membrane-embedded enzymes and transport proteins that are involved in lipid metabolism and validated drug targets for treatment of metabolic diseases and cancers.
Job Duties
- Under close supervision of PI or senior associate:
- Assists with general lab maintenance such as buffer and media preparations.
- Assists with routine procedures such as protein expression and purification.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PCR based mutagenesis, eukaryotic protein expression in the insect cell expression system, membrane protein purification, and knowledge in structure determination of membrane proteins by cryo-electron microscopy.
