• Our Student Assistance Program Counselor will
• Develop, enhance, and maintain a positive relationship between Merakey and the assigned school districts.
• Attend SAP team meetings in assigned schools, as requested by school personnel
• Work with identified families to access services and resources
• Provide consultation to school on relevant mental health and drug/alcohol issues.
• Facilitate classroom and faculty presentations as requested
• Participate in parent/teacher/counselor meetings as requested to provide clinical input regarding students referred to SAP program.
• Attend monthly business meetings and supervision at Merakey, as scheduled by supervisor.
• Complete required documentation of services on timely basis, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly report.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Masters degree in a behavioral science discipline from an accredited university, knowledge of child/adolescent development and experience working with adolescents, children, families with mental health, drug and alcohol, and other emotional problems.
• Pennsylvania Childline clearance required.
• A minimum of 1 year experience working in a clinical or school setting required
