Position: Company Store Clerk

Location: Lancaster, PA, 17603

Duration: 18 Months

Job Type: Contract

Shift Timings:

• A: Monday through Friday 4:30am – 7:30am
• B: Monday through Friday 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Job Description:

Basic duties:

• Ordering, checking orders for accuracy, completing physical inventory counts, stocking shelves, welcoming and greeting customers, answering questions, pricing and displaying merchandise, checking product freshness codes, restocking, operating a cash register, performing the end-of-day cash drawer closing process and maintaining daily/monthly sales & tax reports.
• The required skills will be learned primarily through on-the-job training.

Major Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Must demonstrate strong customer service skills
• Must open the store on time and keep the store looking neat
• Assist customers with purchases
• Restock shelves and maintain a clean work area
• Operate a cash register and give accurate change
• Perform the end-of-day cash drawer closing
• Process and distribute plant donation requests
• Complete physical inventory counts each quarter
• Order product

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

• Must maintain a neat appearance
• Must have customer service skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must have problem-solving skills
• Ability to take initiative
• General retail knowledge is a plus
• Must be able to walk or stand for 3-8 hours
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry 40-50 pounds; may require overhead lifting.
• Requires bending, stooping, and twisting
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, fellow co-workers, and function effectively as part of a team
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain calm
• Must have basic math skills
• Must be able to operate a cash register and give accurate change
• Microsoft Excel knowledge a plus

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

Experience:

• Retail Sales work experience is preferred but not required
• This description covers the most significant duties performed, but you may be responsible for other minor-related work assignments.
