Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Staff Process Engineer to support our Facilities and Maintenance team at our Bacchus, Utah Plant. This position may be located at Promontory, Bacchus, or Clearfield.

This position will support the Bacchus, Clearfield, and Promontory locations. Candidate must be willing to travel to all 3 campuses and be on site. Remote work is not conducive to this job responsibility.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designs manufacturing processes, for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.

  • Designs arrangement of machines and tools within the facility to ensure the most safe and efficient layout.

  • Implements qualification and change management processes to ensure products or services meet customer requirements.

  • Engineer must understand all safety risks of the process and design the processes such that safety risks are mitigated or eliminated.

  • All processes must meet the minimum standard as outlined in (HOPs) Hazards Operation Standard.

  • Understands and complies with DOD4145.26 ATF and NIST and DODI 8500.1.

  • Engineers works closely with the Hazards Analysis and Cross Functional Engineering group in designing and setting up the processes.

  • Develops energetic processes such that safety interlocks, standardization requirements for mixes, and remote processes are incorporated into the process for operator and process safety.

  • Designs sequence of operations and quality control that specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

  • Supports cross function matrixed investigation teams with emphasis on root cause analysis, process failure modes, non-conformances and effective analysis.

  • Uses high level critical skills to problem solve complex issues resulting in modernized resolutions for extended life cycle manufacturability while ensuring compliance with cyber security requirements governed by DOD and NIST.

  • Participates in Engineering councils for integration and process controls.

  • Must be able to develop and implement configuration management standards.

Education/Certifications:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other technical engineering discipline with 14 years’ experience or M.S. degree with 12 years’ experience.

  • Self-starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision

  • Skilled at developing workflows, processes, CONOPS, standard work, and command media with a strategic focus on the big picture

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Interpreting blueprints, models, and specifications

  • Experience writing/reviewing shop planning

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

This position reports to Magna, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Clearfield, UT, UT, USA.



Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
