Overview of this Position:

The Sr. Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading a team of Continuous Improvement Specialists (at or above Green Belt level) to identify, plan and actively manage internal GRAM continuous improvement projects ensuring that they are completed successfully, within approved scope, timeline and budgetary constraints. Projects may vary in scope and cross-functional involvement, and may include implementation of business systems, validated GxP computer systems, new equipment/utilities, and/or facility modifications. The senior manager is responsible for working with senior leadership to define the continuous improvement project portfolio based on strategic company objectives and metrics. Work across the organization to develop and deploy education and training programs to ensure all GRAM employees understand lean systems and are able to apply the appropriate tools and techniques to improve their day-to-day work.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • ASQ (e.g. CMQ/OE, CPGP, CQE, CQIA, CQPA, CSSGB, CSSBB), and/or Lean (Lean Bronze, Lean Six Sigma) certification required.
  • Working knowledge of basic and advanced project management techniques and tools.
  • Direct leadership experience in continuous improvement or program management capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams and individuals, directly and indirectly.
  • Experience in risk management and change management, preferably in a GxP setting.
  • Prior experience working in a cGMP regulated pharmaceutical environment is required, including an understanding of GMP quality systems and pharmaceutical manufacturing in regulated environments under FDA, ICH, and EMA guidelines.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or another related field.
  • 10-12 years of related work experience, including 2-4 years of management and/or specific project management experience.

Preferred Requirements:

Knowledge of aseptic manufacturing principles are preferred.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Identify projects that will results in continuous improvement of the overall organization through process understanding and value identification/creation, with the goal of maximizing efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Work directly with GRAM Senior Management to prioritize continuous improvement projects that support Corporate Objectives and Metrics.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular Continuous Improvement Program meetings, including working team meetings and executive level review meetings.
  • Develop and utilize appropriate program and project level tools to track issues, risks, and action items, and to communicate status and risks to project teams and executive management.
  • Prepare management reports and present to GRAM Management Team on improvement metrics and business impacts.
  • Act as a change agent at all levels of the organization to build, support and maintain momentum behind identified improvement projects.
  • Provide hands-on leadership at all levels of the organization to establish and encourage a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Oversee staff, systems and processes that make up the GRAM Continuous Improvement Department; ensure department is prepared to support future GRAM growth and development needs.
