We are hiring for a Senior Systems Engineer in Uniontown OH. The Systems Engineer III will lead and consult on various products and programs, provide systems engineering on new and existing products, and provide necessary requirements management and guidance to the Integrated Project Teams. This candidate will have the responsibility of hands-on interaction and work closely with our customers, senior management, program managers, and cross discipline technical staff to thoroughly understand customer objectives and requirements, and then to develop solutions.

The ideal candidate has a desire for continual learning with excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, innovative, well-organized, able to handle and prioritize multiple assignments, able to communicate effectively both orally and written and able to work effectively across several different functional areas in a collaborative environment. This position is an onsite position.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Concept development, engineering design, integration and evaluation, and operations and maintenance of various systems or systems of systems.
  • Extensive early and continuing interaction with customers to define solutions, project scope and then act as a liaison for the customer within the company.
  • Lead large groups of engineers and large design efforts, present formal presentations in front of large groups and customers.
  • Conduct detailed design reviews.
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Understand and decompose customer requirements, and downflow the requirements to the working discipline technical staff.
  • Innovate and provide strategic direction and make critical decisions while under pressure.
  • Experience interacting with development teams to resolve discrepancies and issues.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems in all phases of the system lifecycle.
  • Experience problem solving and debugging
  • Experience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities.
  • Experience working with customers, end users, hardware design teams, and software design teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years of System Engineering with experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and 3+ years of System Engineering experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9+ years of System Engineering experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAE ARP 4754A for development processes
  • Experience with DOORS, Polarion or other forms of requirements management tool
  • Experience with system modeling tools
  • Experience formalizing, developing, and writing requirements, plans, and procedures based on customer discussions, briefings, interactions, and statements of work
  • Experience developing system-level designs, high-level control, and data interfaces.
  • Experience with bid and proposal activities related to system development.
