Description: Speech and Language Pathologist - 2 positions open for 2023-24 School Year Job Summary: The Speech and Language Pathologist will perform the duties of a related service provider as defined in NH RSA 186-C. Services will help to reduce or eliminate speech and language impediments that interfere with a students ability to benefit fully from the districts educational program. The Speech and Language Pathologist will complete student evaluations.Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Awareness of NH Rules and Regulations for Special Education, understanding of Section 504, ADD; knowledge of speech/language development disorders; including phonological awareness and pragmatic language.

Appropriate licensure in the state of New Hampshire is required. Certification by the America Speech/Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.Working Conditions: Full-time, exempt; 186 days during school year. Please do not call the school.POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position: 1. To identify students with a possible disability in speech and language through the screening of the following populations: Preschool childrenStudents new to the school districtStudents who demonstrate speech and/or language difficulties whose educational performance is satisfactory; andStudents referred as suspected of being educationally handicapped for whom language or communication is an area of concern.2. To complete a comprehensive diagnostic assessment through formal and informal evaluation of those students who have been identified as having a possible disability in speech and language. 3.

To serve on the multi-disciplinary evaluation team, that is for the purpose of identification of a student with a suspected speech and language disability. 4. To apply specialized knowledge and skills in the area of speech and language to the collaborativeplanning, implementation, and evaluation of a students individual program. 5.

To provide, when appropriate, workshops and consultation to the school district staff regarding speech and language development, strategies for teaching the identified student within the classroom, and interpretation of diagnostic materials. 6. To provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate. 7.

To provide the immediate supervisor with a schedule of students serviced and to keep thorough ongoing records for the individual students receiving therapy. 8. To maintain lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, as well as a directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists, and related services. 9.

To assist in the development of the annual budget for speech and language services, and to requisition needed supplies for servicing students and maintaining equipment. 10. To supervise a speech aide, if necessary, at least once a week to include: monitoring of the students progress and behavior, consultation and planning weekly, and reporting to the immediate supervisor important data or appropriate information. 11.
