RxBenefits is hiring! We are adding to the growing Application Development team in our Birmingham, AL headquarters. The SQA Automation Engineer II owns the development and execution of automated tests for applications and assigned projects. They have an advanced understanding of the business, its operational processes, and the software that supports the processes. The person in this role understands the design of existing and new features and implements/executes automated tests to ensure that the software is functioning as designed. The SQA Automation Engineer II provides a high degree of coordination between the product owner, the technical designer, manual test engineers, and the development team to ensure quality solutions are delivered to the end-users.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement test automation best practices, processes, and documentation for validating application projects and features
• Modify and debug test scripts as needed for changed features
• Develop and maintain specific test scripts and test results for smoke, certification and regression test suites
• Review test strategies and ensure proper coverage
• Play an active role in software testing with the QA team
• Contribute to the project planning process by estimating automation tasks and deliverables
• Effectively document software defects and proactively communicate defect details and impact to the team
• Participate in departmental and project team meetings
• Communicate and escalate information about timetables and milestones that may not be met
• Collaborate with the development, QA, and product management teams in an agile environment
• Use creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness
• Make suggestions and improvements to quality assurance standards and best practices
• Experience navigating and steering capabilities with automation tests tools

Required Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or other related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience in software test automation
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, best practices and processes
• Experience with web and API automation testing
• Strong understanding of web-based applications, database management systems, and SQL
• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
• Strong programming skills (JavaScript a strong plus)
• Intermediate SQL skills preferred
• Data analysis skills including experience collecting data from multiple sources, consolidating, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting using large data sets is a plus
• Strong desire to grow technically and professionally
• Analytical thinker and problem solver
• Advanced understanding of risk analysis as it relates to quality
• Software development experience is a strong plus
• Experience with commercially available automation test management tools (Cypress a strong plus)
• Experience in healthcare/benefit management systems is a strong plus
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Experience communicating impact in both technical and user-friendly language with all levels of technical and business associates
• Solid working experience testing with automation solutions
• Advanced understanding of automation technology stack
• Independently troubleshoot common technical problems
