We are currently searching for a research and development engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for Supporting the research, analysis, and development of new and existing software products focused on production automation and robotics. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Specification, design, and implementation of applications that support automation and robotics
• Desktop PC applications
• Potential for multi-platform, multi-device applications (web, iOS, Android, macOS, etc.)
• New products and enhancements to existing products.
• Development using Microsoft Visual Studio and one or more of its language components (C# C++, C, Visual Basic, .NET, etc.)
• Potential for development using multi-platform, multi-device development tools
• User Interface design and implementation using platform specific technologies and tools (Microsoft Windows, potential for web iOS, Android, macOS, etc.)

• Development and execution of product test plans and procedures.
• Assist documentation staff in authoring of product documentation.
• Resolve field reported problems.
• Communication with internal and external engineering staff on product and development related issues.
• Present product concept proposals to internal selling divisions and select customers.
• Update and modify design / engineering documentation as required for assigned developments.
• Ability to develop and execute basic project schedules.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills and education:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in the industry is a plus.
• Specific experience with design and development of user interface applications - use of Microsoft UI and technology stack in said applications is a plus.
• Understanding of the underlying operating system and software development environment is a plus.
• Basic aptitude for software design, software development tools, and software development processes.
• Basic aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving software issues.
• Basic aptitude for technical writing
• Aptitude and knowledge of the Microsoft Visual Studio programming environment.
• Significant academic and/or practical software development experience with C#, C++, C, and/or Visual Basic programming languages.
• Experience in production automation / robotic systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of mobile device application development is a plus.
• Experience with web application development is a plus.
• Knowledge of 3D modelling and/or 3D simulation is a plus.
• Understanding of AR/VR Technologies and implementation a plus.
• Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
