The Waste Projects & Operations (WP&O) is responsible for the following:

• Safely and compliantly storing, treating, and disposing of a wide variety of solid wastes and nuclear materials.
• Providing integrated waste treatment, transportation, storage and disposal services for all CHPRC cleanup projects.
• Management of stored fuels and capsules, including 1,936 highly radioactive cesium and strontium capsules in underwater storage.
• Retrieval and packaging of legacy transuranic waste for off-site disposition.
• Treatment and disposal of mixed and low-level radioactive wastes.

A day in the life of a CSB/ISA Shift Operations Manager at the Canister Storage Building (CSB) involves:

• Providing support in directing bargaining unit employees to operate within the current authorization basis, federal, state and local laws and regulations, and approved policies and procedures.
• Assuring that all work is performed in a manner that reflects the highest commitment to safety, process improvements, and excellence in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Completing and maintaining the CSB Shift Operations Manager / Building Emergency Director (BED) qualification training requirements.
• Overseeing operational configuration control of the facility through safe use of CSB Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Job Control System (JCS) Procedures.
• Maintaining compliance within CSB approved safety basis through strict implementation of Technical Safety Requirements (TSR).
• Maintaining the security and emergency response capabilities of the facility while performing the duties of Building Emergency Director (BED).
• Providing daily support and backup to the CSB Facility Manager.
• Must Obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (L)

Basic Qualifications
* US Citizen

• Grade 20 - BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years relevant experience

Desired Qualifications
* Experience in the nuclear field at an operating facility.

• Experience with Job Control System requirements, LOTO, TSR requirements.
• Excellent conduct of operations understanding and habits.
• Maintain Radiation Worker II qualification.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with high hazard nuclear facility operations.
• Previous Shift Manager experience in a nuclear facility.
• Previous Nuclear Navy experience

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on 40 hours per week:

• Grade 20: $122,813 - $154,838

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
