Role Purpose: Has primary responsibility to provide engineering support for our customer strain gage, thermocouple, and ancillary sensor installations

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Involves regular, ongoing contact both in person and by telephone with our customer base in order to engineer the sensor applications.
Provide costing information to the Sales Department for the purposes of generating a quotation for the customer.
Liaison with the internal HITEC labs performing the installation work; this includes generating the document package given to the lab (drawings, technical requirements, etc) as well as generating initial job setup information for the customer Service Department.
Must be willing to act as mentor to engineers with less industry experience and knowledge.
Write and present strain gage based technical papers as required for various conferences and organizations.
Careful build up of our field support capability through both in-house and contract engineers and technicians.
Evaluation of new measurement technologies as they may affect HITEC’s sensor applications. New static strain gage alloys are among the areas that need to be kept up to date on.

Education and/or Experience:
B.S. in Engineering, plus 5 years of experience in the strain gage applications/installation field and with this being an area of primary responsibility
Experience with Turbo-Machinery and associated instrumentation is a definite plus
A working knowledge of transducer/flexure/structure design and FEA methods is desirable.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD, or SolidWorks preferred. Photoshop, 3D modeling, and 2D modeling.
Must have strong knowledge in mechanical behavior of materials and FEA understanding.
