General Function
The Senior Sustainability Data Manager will lead the development of data collection and reporting systems that support the effective execution of Fifth Third Corporate Responsibility Office (CRO)’s programs and projects. Provides strategic direction and oversight of data encompassing Fifth Third’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Community Development, Impact Banking, and Inclusion and Diversity initiatives. The Senior Manager is responsible for staying abreast of industry and regulatory data- and reporting-related trends, presenting recommendations, and leading the development and implementation of data collection and reporting solutions that mitigate risks, create efficiencies, and provide compelling descriptions of outcomes and impacts. As well, the Senior Manager will lead the preparation of ESG, CRA, and Community Development reports for executive leadership, federal regulators, and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and improve the design of CRO data collection, maintenance, and reporting processes, and ensure that analytical tools evolve as the business changes.
  • Responsible for developing reporting, analytics, metrics, and key performance indicators while also providing in-depth analysis and recommendations for improving/enhancing the bank’s sustainability and ESG performance.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of CRA-related data to Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Lead timely production of CRA performance reports and analysis required for CRA performance-related discussions with line of business executives and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
  • Provide information technology (IT) related subject matter expertise across Corporate Responsibility Office.
  • Responsible for managing a small team of data and reporting analysts.
  • Support the planning and direction of departmental projects that involve IT enhancements.
  • Leading participant in process improvement and problem resolution initiatives.
  • Establish, foster, and maintain working relationships with peers and management within the Bank and across the various lines of business.
  • Develop analytical models to help CRO leadership identify patterns in data.
  • Work closely with CRO leadership to develop performance metrics and reports that convey impact and variance analyses.
  • Manage a complex workload that may include multiple tasks with conflicting priorities.
  • Compile and report data as requested by the Board of Directors, executive management, Compliance Testing, Internal Audit, and/or federal regulators.
  • Review and address any process concerns from Compliance Testing, Internal Audit results, and/or federal regulators.
  • Provide leadership in the planning for and provision of required data for CRA performance evaluations conducted by the OCC.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Degree concentration in a technological field and/or Graduate degree preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience in database management, information technology, project management, or in a regulatory compliance related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in planning and accomplishing projects, identifying responsibilities, tasks, deadlines and pursuing their timely completion while producing a high-quality work product and summarizing large amounts of information in a concise manner.
  • Proven ability to drive key business initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of regulatory requirements and control environments as well as emerging ESG, CRA, Community Development, and Inclusion and Diversity trends preferred. Experience dealing with state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of CRA compliance software and/or ArcGIS preferred. Confident programming skills using R, SAS, SQL or VBA preferred. Aptitude to learn and use additional software applications without assistance and minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to understand and conceptualize basic statistical analysis and theories. Solid experience directing analytical efforts (including validating, correcting, reformatting, and transforming) and data into more than one format (e.g. spreadsheets, databases, etc.), ultimately presenting data effectively.
  • Ability to develop and implement controlled, systematic step-by-step processes based on regulatory guidance, internal procedures and/or business needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated effectiveness communicating at all levels within an organization. Ability to present a compelling case and articulate a program mission, goals, and priorities strategically and tactically.
  • Positive and professional business presence displayed internally and externally.
  • Sound judgment and logical and critical thought processes displayed when developing, recommending, and executing solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage concurrent responsibilities, and prioritize according to shifting and sometimes accelerated deadlines.
