This position may be located in Torrance CA or Urbandale IA per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Systems Engineer for John Deere’s Intelligent Solutions Group Receivers & Signals Team located in Torrance, CA or Urbandale, IA, you will be involved in the support and development of satellite navigation systems within our suite of Precision Technology products. Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with systems engineers, project leads, and design experts to define requirements, objectives, and acceptance criteria for software development of satellite navigation products- Understand and become an expert in current satellite navigation products including architectures and interfaces to help address questions that arise during development
- Perform system design tasks, including the creation of key software interfaces
- Lead and inspire developers and others on the team to accomplish big goals
What Skills You Need
At least 3 years of demonstrated systems engineering experience such as authoring requirements, system decomposition, system design, design review, Root Cause Analysis, the FMEA process, and creation of systems engineering artifacts.- At least 3 years of experience with embedded software development/test
- At least 3 years of technical experience relating to design/diagnostics/troubleshooting of software subsystems
- Demonstrated ability to bring diverse, key stakeholder groups together to deliver a solution with high customer and business value
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and align work with distributed teams in a hybrid environment
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with GNSS applications- Experience with communication networks & protocols (SAE J1939 CAN, Ethernet)
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles
- Formal training in systems engineering practices
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
BS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related discipline
Compensation Data
Salary Range for this position is $134,364.00 to $201,540.00
Compensation Data
Salary Range information is specific to the Torrance CA location, adjusted for that Geographic location.
