Job Summary:
Provide strategic direction and daily leadership to all Process engineering functions for the site. Develop a Process engineering strategic vision that drives continuous improvement of all site processes, tooling, fixtures, systems, and work instructions. Develops and implements production processes that are efficient, effective, consistent in alignment with the Global Tech Ops team. Provide safe and ergonomically superior operator experience. Drive process and system innovation throughout the manufacturing process. Build, mentor, and develop a high performing team of (Process) engineering talent to help ensure the future of the site and the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the team of Process engineering managers, Process engineers and technicians that support all production processes for the site including mixing, extrusion, molding, trimming, rinsing, pharma washing, B2 coating, Envision, Chlorination and Sterilization along with all supporting equipment and subprocesses such as DES, shaker tables, heat sealers, material handling conveyance, etc.
  • Lead and develop the local PE Engineering team (set objectives, guide, and engage the team, train, follow-up, provide feedback, prepare appraisal, and manage performance and delivery).
  • Manage the teams’ performance, conduct performance reviews, recruit team, put in place training and development plans, addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner.
  • Lead and foster an environment of continuous improvement and providing leadership in this area by identifying and implementing lean, efficiency, cost reduction, quality, and service level improvements.
  • Responsible for the Process validation of all new or upgraded manufacturing equipment.
  • Primary site Process technical contact and lead for customer inquiries, audits, and interactions
  • As a key member of the site senior leadership team, provide direction and guidance for the Process engineering function and critical input into overall site strategic vision, culture, and operational decisions.
  • Provides technical engineering expertise and guidance when needed to ensure optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Champions innovation and continuous improvement in all plant manufacturing and supporting processes.
  • Utilizes strategic planning approach to continue to evolve the site toward an agreed future state.
  • Implements lean processes, KPI metric analysis and best practice strategies to drive best practices throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, the global Tech Ops team and/or external vendors in the development/modification of all processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business need.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or technical degree required, master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of Process /technical work experience and 5 years of management experience
  • 5+ years of practical Process/ Ops related implementation experience in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma training.
  • cGMP knowledge.

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting experience
  • Ability to manage projects from conception to production.
  • Effectively use software tools to manage timelines and budgets.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time (up to 26 business days of the year)

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Sedentary - exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
