Senior PreConstruction Manager, Energy Storage

The Senior Preconstruction Manager, Energy Storage leads the charge in developing pricing and project proposals to support some of the largest and most cutting-edge Energy Storage projects across the country. This role drives the full-cycle energy storage preconstruction coordination and works in partnership with our Business Development, Operations, and Engineering teams to foster great client relationships, develop new vendor partnerships, and will directly contribute to CS Energy position as a market leader in Energy Storage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Competitive Bids and Proposals

  • Review project bid documents; initiate and follow through design approach, lead strategy discussions, estimate generation and lead proposal preparation between Business Development, and Engineering teams
  • Work with in-house electrical estimators, electrical and civil engineering teams to analyze and evaluate bid risks and strategies, present bid reviews to management

External Relations

  • Responsible for overseeing and working with Supply Chain team in soliciting and selection of all subcontractors and vendors during bid and project start-up. Develop relationship with subcontractors and suppliers by creating strategic alliances to ensure competitiveness
  • Attend and actively participate in proposal review and support business development in contract negotiations with client

Organization and Analysis

  • Complete and review the detailed costs estimates and proposals for all work activities to ensure accuracy and company standards are met (subcontractor and self-perform for craft hours, labor, material and equipment costs)
  • Responsible for estimating workflow, assign tasks to estimating and presales engineering team and making sure all deadlines are met

Project Start-Up and Transition

  • Oversee project startup and lead the project until complete handoff to project execution team
  • Participate in design and execution planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or Engineering Technology, or a closely-related field or foreign equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years in project management or equivalent combination of experience, with a track record of successful achievement and progression in greater responsibility
  • Experience in the energy storage project development or construction management is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous EPC estimating and scheduling experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cost and schedule risk identification and mitigation
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced skills in Excel required
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills required
