An opportunity for a motivated and experienced Corporate Real Estate Professional to lead end-to-end projects from transaction to delivery for the Americas region.

Responsibilities include strategy development, real estate transactions, project management and delivery of capital buildout projects across the region.

Alignment to industry-leading practices and Macquarie business needs, including adapting workplace design best practices, and technology solutions, implementing space and occupancy optimization programs, and ensuring visible leadership and regular engagement on health and safety with all stakeholders.

Key activities will include:

  • Development and implementation of real estate portfolio plans to meet Macquarie’s business requirements while ensuring commercial effectiveness. Transactions include, but are not limited to, leases and subleases, extensions and renewals, site selection, early exits, resizing of existing spaces and other lease amendments
  • capturing all workplace related requests and requirements and advising on potential solutions and challenges
  • development of effective working relationships with corporate teams, client facing professionals and leadership. Establishment of an effective stakeholder engagement approach that includes support functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Technology, etc.) and business segment leadership to understand the range of requests / requirements, gain alignment, and to update stakeholders on status / changes during project delivery. As needed, helps shape cross-functional teams, including external service providers, to develop solutions for offices in countries or places without dedicated Real Estate teams, where the success of projects will depend on effective collaboration with local resources.
  • management of relationships with external service providers, including setting sets direction, strategy and governance to the inhouse supply partner team. Represents the RE team as a key relationship manager to brokerage organizations.
  • leading of multi-disciplinary teams to appoint and manage a variety of external teams including transaction brokers, project managers, designers/architects and MEP consultants
  • coordinating project approval requirements, ensuring all appropriate governance has been followed together with cost estimate, schedules, risks and scope
  • driving innovation and transformation in Macquarie workplace design and operations
  • promoting a business culture that proactively and continuously considers health, wellbeing and safety.

You will have 7 years + proven corporate real estate experience, with a track record of successfully delivering interior office projects, from inception to ready to occupy.

This will include experience of managing multi-million-dollars construction and fit-out projects but also smaller works, in an international environment adhering to global standards and practices.

We are also looking for a demonstrable ability to read and interpret commercial office leases and construction documentation as well as knowledge of building products, construction details and building engineering systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection). It’s critical you understand and appreciate environmentally sustainable practices.

Salary

Salary range for this position: $140,000 - $180,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
