Responsibilities:

Peraton has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Information Assurance/ Security Engineer to work on-site with our team in Landover, MD. Our program provides full life cycle support for a large Information Technology (IT) system for the Department of Defense (DoD). This program delivers full life-cycle engineering support for all system elements including Development (hardware, software, and networks), Systems and Security Engineering (Integration, testing and Deployment), Sustainment (Logistics, and field support), Network Operations Center (NOC)/Help Desk, and Government user training support for user community.


The Senior Information Assurance/ Security Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Provides technical and programmatic Information Assurance Services to internal and external customers in support of network and information security systems.
  • Designs, develops and implements security requirements within an organization’s business processes.
  • Prepares documentation for authorization of information systems using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process such as SSP, SCTM, Continuous Monitoring Reports, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Prepares and supports the development and performance of Security Assessment Procedures for selected security controls.
  • Provides assessment and authorization (A&A) support in the development of security and contingency plans and conducts complex risk and vulnerability assessments, including development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyzes policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps.
  • Recommends system enhancements to improve security deficiencies.
  • Secures system configurations and develops, tests, and integrates computer and network security tools, scans systems in order to determine compliancy and report results. Evaluates products and various aspects of system administration.
  • Conducts security program audits and develops solutions to lessen identified risks.
  • Provides information assurance support for the development and implementation of security architectures to meet new and evolving security requirements.
  • Evaluates, develops and enhances security requirements, policy and tools.
  • Provides assistance in computer incident response, reporting, and investigations.

**This role is required to provide support, on-site, Mon-Fri**

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • An Active TS/SCI
  • Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience, or Masters Degree with 10 years of experience or PhD with 10+ years of experience
  • CISSP certification
  • Experience implementing RMF processes and NIST technical controls
  • ACAS (Tenable SecurityCenter / Nessus) experience
  • Experience supporting IC or DoD in cybersecurity domain
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of experience, or Masters Degree with 13 years of experience or PhD with 10+ years of experience
  • CISSP-ISSEP/ISSAP (CISSP Engineering or Architecture Professional)
  • Experience working with Agile teams or in DevSecOps environments
  • Experience with administering SIEM tool implementations (e.g. Splunk, ELK Stack)
  • Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) experience
