This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Environmental Scientist for our Durham, North Carolina office. The following locations will also be considered: Charlotte, NC; and Wilmington, NC. Be involved in projects with our Natural Resources Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Seeking a Motivated Professional with 10 + years of Wetland Delineation, Protected Species, and Section 10/404/401 Permitting Experience
  • Help direct a motiviated team of multidisiplinary environmental professionals on various projects throughout the Southeastern US
  • Assist with Client and Project Development - Track opportunities, identify client needs, assist with proposals and marketting materials where needed
  • Assist clients in navigating a complex regulatory environment

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology/Biology/Environmental Science or related field.
  • Successful Candidate must have a strong understanding of USACE and NCDEQ-DWR permitting and permitting requirements.
  • Project and Client Management experience.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motificated and capable of independent work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a project team.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Ecology/Biology/Environmental Science or related field.
  • Understanding and experience with CAMA permitting.
  • Familiarity with Energy and DOT clients.
