Job Description


Summary of Duties And Responsibilities:

Under direction, with broad latitude for the exercise of independent judgment, acts as an expert advisor to the Chairperson or Corporate Officer on complex and important health care issues.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop channels of communication with corporate managerial personnel, community groups and representatives of governmental and health care agencies to maximize the provision of health care.
  • Provide high-level analytic and administrative support to resolve complex coordination of health care services, with an emphasis on the issues, problems, and general modes of operation of Corporation activities which impact, either directly or indirectly, on planning, implementing, developing, and such services.
  • Participate in the establishment and maintenance of effective cooperation and liaison with executive personnel in City departments and agencies, and private agencies concerning problems and activities in the area of health care.
  • Serve as a resource to corporate divisions (i.e. Finance, Operations, Medical and Professional Affairs etc.)
  • Develop strategies and alternative approaches for improvement of specified health care programs and assist Chairperson/Corporate Officer in assessing existing resources and determining priorities.

Minimum Qualifications


1. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration or an approved related program and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, with an emphasis on planning, liaison and interorganizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or,
2. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, with an emphasis on planning, liaison and interorganizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
