JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Security Officer enforces all rules and regulations put in place by the Palm Bay Association.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patrol the premises regularly to maintain order and establish a presence that will serve as a deterrent for any criminal behavior or mischief.
• Protect the Owners, Staff and Guests/Renters from any threats.
• Report suspicious behavior to management.
• Prevent vandalism.
• Diffuse volatile situations.
• Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles onto the property.
• Monitor and enforce the use of wristbands by all paying guests/renters and owners.
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after operations have ended.
• Provide assistance to people in need.
• Respond to guest and office calls immediately.
• Provide excellent customer service to renters and/or owners.
• Provide check-in assistance after office hours.
• Help maintain excellent working conditions by keeping the facilities safe and free of problems.
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences or incidents.
• Report to the General Manager and Security Manager any activity that places the association in jeopardy.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Class-D Security License – you will be expected to complete the course if you don’t have a license.
• Experience as a security officer
• Decision making skills, as a condominium security officer you will often need to be able to make on the spot decisions. Some of the decisions could save lives, or the lives of colleagues.
• Interpersonal skills, as a condominium security officer you will work with members of the public.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure, as a condominium security officer you may be faced with unforeseen and unpredictable circumstances.
• Organizational skills are essential as a condominium security officer you must make sure and complete all scheduled and routine tasks on time.
• Communication skills, as a condominium security officer you will need to communicate with staff, guests and owners always in a hospitable manner.
• Walking, Running, Lifting, as a condominium security officer you may be required to move swiftly towards a situation to secure or confront a situation to gain control. Assisting elderly or inebriated guests and owners is a possibility.
